Job Summary

The Sales Manager oversees and leads the activities of the sales department.

Supervisory Functions

  • Hires and trains account managers and staff.
  • Organizes and oversees sales funnel, accounts, territories, and performance.
  • Collaborate with marketing to develop strategies for reaching sales targets.
  • Stay up-to-date on market trends, competition, and industry developments.
  • Identify potential customers and generate new business opportunities for the company.
  • Collaborate with Operations and Production to help with forecasting and proactively addressing problems.
  • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees following company policy.
  • Maximize business opportunities with new and existing clients by building and maintaining client relationships.
  • Organize, update, and maintain customer base accounts in CRM as needed.
  • Attend networking events and trade shows to build relationships and generate leads.
  • Assist the Finance department as needed with collecting deposits and final payments.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership, and motivation, and encourages the sales team to ensure quotas are met – LMA.
  • Reviews and analyzes sales and operational records and reports; uses data to project sales, determine profitability and targets, and identify potential new markets.
  • Assigns territories and sets quotas for sales teams.
  • Provide support in marketing efforts, including establishing goals, planning, and oversight.
  • Work with the President to establish revenue and profit objectives for new business development.
  • Report on sales activities (quotes, orders, etc.) and send out Daily/Weekly/Monthly Sales Reports.
  • Provide support for sales and marketing events and exhibitions as required; attend as required.
  • Close new business deals by coordinating requirements of the customer vs. USI, developing and negotiating contracts, and integrating contract requirements with business operations.
  • Ensure all correct information is on OA (email, address, attn, PO/job number).
  • Consults with potential customers to understand their needs; identifies and suggest equipment, products, or services that will meet them.
  • Resolves customer complaints or disputes, staffing problems, and other issues that may interfere with sales.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to develop sales quotas and strategies.
  • Prepares sales budget, monitors and approves expenses.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working from a computer.
  • Occasional travel locally and out of state.
