Product Designer

Job Summary:

The Product Designer operates CAD system to provide support for all departments by preparing routine layouts, detail drawings, assembly drawings, sketches and diagrams. Details include all views and dimensions necessary for manufacturing.

Essential Functions:

· Document designs using SolidWorks/AutoCAD.

· Create and revise production drawings (detail and assembly drawings.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

· Utilize knowledge of various manufacturing machines, design practices, math and building materials to complete drawings.
· Draft detailed multi-view drawings of manufactured products.
· Communicate with sales and manufacturing regarding new and revised prints.

Skills and Qualifications:

· 2 years CAD experience (SolidWorks).
· 2 years' experience in sheet metal manufacturing environment.
· Familiar with SolidWorks PDM system.
· Has solid understanding of drafting techniques and familiarity with design terminology.
· Possesses mechanical aptitude with ability to complete basic mathematical calculations.
· Communication skills.
· Problem-solving/analysis.
· Ability to read and understand architectural drawings.
· General computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
· Other duties as assigned by manager.

Physical Requirements:

· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working from a computer.
